Unreal

Austin is unlike any city that i have ever been to.  There are more bars, pubs, clubs, speakeasies, and music joints within a few city blocks on 6th street than i thought possible in a single city.  By 8pm, every single place had a live band whether or not it was related to
South by.  My favorite band of the night was probably "The Evening Rig," a really unique, fun
sounding bar band from Minnesota.  These guys have a killer drummer that my roommate should probably check out.
Coming in second for the night was this Japanese Jazz combo.  the sound was great, the singer was having a great time, the guitarist really nailed his solos and the bassist was smooth and cool.  overall, these guys were Tight. Unfortunately, i wasn't able to catch their name, but i'll look into that for later.
The last group of the night was my third favorite.  They were a Thick blues trio (Guitar, Keys/synth, drums) whose sound had a color and uniqueness that really was all about feeling.  not to mention, the bass amplitude was enormous and made everyone in the venue feel a very intense depth to the music.

It's quarter to 3 here...so almost 4am by my clock and that would make it time to sleep.  Tomorrow is another very full day with loads of good things in store.
